How do I enter a fish

Take a photo, preferably multiple photos of your fish on a ketch measuring board while holding the indicator in the photo. The fishes mouth needs to be closed. The fish also must look alive. We don't want anyone going out and buying a 10 pounder from the fish market.

Submit the photo either via email to VAtroutpool@gmail.com or post it on the FB page. If the fish looks like it might be penalized due to the mouth not being closed, you will be asked for a second photo. A mouth all the way open gets penalized .5 inches and slightly open gets penalized .25. This is because that's about how much distance the mouth open adds and we are trying to get a true measurement of the fish for a level playing field. Point being, take a ton of photos if you get a huge one.

What happened to 1-10 prizes

We are doing the format from 2021 this year. That being said, I will be tracking 1-10 and if we have enough donations, we can do 4th - 10th as well. 

 

What is a prize package

Right now, we have 40 sponsors. A prize package is a collection of products from those 40 sponsors. We try to put in at least one big item in each one such as a reel, rod, sunglasses, guided trip or high value art work. They also include some swag such as shirts, hats and stickers. On top of that, you get a ton of trout lures/plastics. Those include custom baits as well. The dollar value range is usually above $500 for the whole kit.
