About the Trout Pool
The trout pool began in 2019, originally organized by Cashin Prustman & Charlie Church. The original group consisted of Cashin Prustman, Charlie Church, David Cockerill, Drew Aladj and Charley Meyer. We all put $50 into the pool and the person with the biggest trout at the end of the year took it all.
It's continually grown to what it is today. Now it's one of the most competitive speckled trout tournaments in the state and is run in a format that favors the trout angler.
There's no one day event with all the local areas getting hammered. Instead you fish when you want, where you want (as long as it's in Virginia). We don't want to know your spots. That's actually discouraged. We just want you to catch a hammer trout and if you do, congrats....you are either getting paid or receiving some awesome product from our great sponsors.
2024 Details
Registration: Ends 8/31/24
Tournament Duration: 9/1/24 - 12/21/24
Measurement Board Requirement: Ketch Board (see FB group for discount)
Indicator: To be announced upon lines in
Measurement Requirements: Close the mouth of the fish, dont pinch the tail and get your indicator in.
Boundaries: All VA waters
Prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Biggest in Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Most RO20, Biggest on Fly (might add 4-10th depending on gear donations).
