This is the entry for the 2024 Trout Pool.
Indicators will be posted at 9/1/24 at midnight.
Rules:
New Rules for 2024
- Fishes mouth must be closed. If wide open, a .5 deduction and if partially open then a .25 deduction.
Photo Entry
- Fish must be photographed on a measuring device with the head on the 0. The end of the tail indicates the total length of fish. Indicator must be in photo which will be provided on September 1,2024.
- No boga grips/fish grips on the fish in the measurement photo as it makes it hard to see the 0
- No hand on the tail while measuring or pinching so that everyone is on a level playing field.(.25 inch deduction)
- Measuring device must be a Ketch Board

- I recommend taking multiple photos of a fish you plan on entering in case one photo has issues. If there are issues with a measurement, fish size will be adjusted by judge committee.
- Entries are posted on the FB page for everyone within this (private group) to see. Entries are due before the pool closes. If not using FB, please submit entries to VAtroutpool@gmail.com
- Location/technique is your info, just as long as it's in VA. Spot burning/sharing is discouraged. We ain't potlickers.
- Fish must be caught on hook and line.
- Fish must look alive in photograph.
Duration
- Fish must be caught in Virginia between September 1, 2024 and December 21, 2024.
Tie Breaker
- In the event of a tie, first entered fish wins.
Entry
$55 Entry fee must be paid before September 1,2024
Fly:
- If entering a fish on fly, fly must be in fishes mouth for at least one photo.
